We welcome everyone to apply! That being said, we do have some things we require and some things that are nice to have in our candidates. For specific details, view the eligibility page.

You can choose to go for 3, 6, or 12 months.

It depends on how long the matching process, securing the visa, and getting the necessary documents takes to complete. However, on average we see this timeline is about two months.

From the time you apply to the time you match with a family is typically less than one month.

The host families care deeply about their children and want to give them the best experience possible — As such, they are the ones funding your program. That being said, it may not be 100% free and you should refer to our costs page for the details on all items that may not be included.

Live Au Pair is a branch of our main company, HongShan Au Pair. We've chosen to add this branch to tailor to the western cultures better and have some separation for our Au Pair services meant for Chinese people. We also wanted to redo and separate the English version of our website without affecting the Chinese version.

Yes! If you'd like to stay in China for longer, we can help you extend your stay and get a visa extension. You also have the option to get a visa extension at the end of your program if you'd like to have some time to travel around China.

We'd be sad to see you leave the program early, but if you do need to leave early you do have the option to do so. We just ask that if you do leave before at least the 3 month duration that you arrange your return flight home, which you can refer to on the costs page for the details on items that may not be included.

There can be a few things to navigate when getting a visa, but we have extensive experience in the visa application process and can almost always guarantee visa acceptance.

We'd hope that we can figure out a way for you to feel comfortable with the host family you matched with. Since it takes time to match with a host family and your visa is directly tied to staying with them, we try to avoid rematching as much as possible. If there are irreconcilable differences with the family we can assist with rematching, ideally no more than once every six months.
